September 13 – Mara North Conservancy

We are off on another game drive this morning.  Early enough to get a bit of a sunrise.

We saw many of the standards animals…

There were also a lot of birds…many were repeats.  There are so many birds.

We started to do an afternoon game drive and saw a few new birds:  

Batleur Eagle,

and lots of swifts on the road.

However, we had only been out for about a half hour when it started raining pretty hard.  So Dennis hi-tailed it back to camp as fast as he could.  It actually wasn’t raining at the camp…only out on the savannah.  We had a quiet dinner and then spent the evening packing for our next location.

In the month we have been in East Africa we have seen the Big Five, many several times.  And I posted photos of them earlier.  Well, they also have the Ugly Five...and we've seen all of them as well.  They are the Marabou Stork, Warthog, Wildebeest (Gnu),  Vulture, and Hyena.
